Why is Tom Boonen riding Jaegher? Because only the best is good enough for a world champion. And of course because Jaegher was the first cycling brand to integrate the Classified Powershift in a frame.
In the 2017 Ronde Van Vlaanderen Tom Boonen ended up with a mechanical problem on his Taaienberg: a stuck chain. "With this system I might have won my 4th Ronde Van Vlaanderen", he says now.
This might need some explanation. With the Classified Powershift system, you don't need a front derailleur. With only 1 chainring and up to 12 gears you get a range of 24 gears. With the help of an electromagnetic shifting rear hub with two positions. Call it a virtual front derailleur. The advantage? You can shift under heavy load while shifting instantaneously. And above all: your chain cannot be blocked while riding or racing the beautiful Tour of Flanders.
Classified Cycling offers the Powershift hub only in their own wheel sets. At Jaegher we do what we do best: we customize. We build the hub in any type of rim and combine it with any group set from Shimano over SRAM to Campagnolo. In that way the revolutionary system is offered as an upgrade to build your Jaegher around 1x24 gears.
